Petroc Welcomes New Students at Annual Welcome Fest

Petroc’s campus was buzzing with excitement this week as the college hosted its annual Welcome Festival, organised by the Student Engagement Team.

The event, a much-anticipated tradition, gave new students the chance to explore the wide range of opportunities available beyond the classroom.

From lively stalls to interactive demonstrations, the welcome festival showcased Petroc’s extra curricular services, where students could find out how to get involved in academies such as football, rugby, netball and more. Representatives were also on hand to talk about the Student Ambassador programme, which allows learners to develop leadership skills while helping to shape the student experience.

Students discovered the variety of academies they can join to boost their personal and professional growth. The festival also highlighted the vital support services available at Petroc, with information on mental health, sexual health, and overall wellbeing accessible to all students throughout the year.

The Welcome Festival provides an invaluable opportunity for learners to connect with staff, meet fellow students, and start building their college community.

The Student Engagement Team hopes the event will inspire students to get involved, make the most of their time at Petroc, and feel confident knowing that support is always available.
