A new year, a new era for North Devon College
Tuesday 6 January marks the start of a new term for students — and a significant milestone for education in the region as North Devon College officially begins its journey as part of the newly formed Exeter and North Devon Colleges (ENDC) Group.
Formerly known as Petroc, the College begins 2026 with a new name, a stronger position and a clear ambition: to deliver even greater opportunities for learners, staff, employers and communities across North Devon.
The formation of the ENDC Group follows the successful merger with Exeter College, approved after extensive public consultation. The merger brings together two renowned tertiary colleges with a shared commitment to delivering high-quality education, skills development and positive community impact.
As part of a large, place-based college group, North Devon College is better positioned to expand progression routes, strengthen A Level and apprenticeship pathways, deepen employer partnerships and invest sustainably in staff, facilities and learner support.
Alongside the launch of the new Group, Jade Otty, Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer will also take on the role of Senior Leader for North Devon College. Jade Otty, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Exeter and North Devon Colleges Group and Senior Leader for North Devon College said “It’s a real privilege to lead North Devon College at such an important moment in its journey. I’m excited to build on the fantastic progress already made by the team, ensuring every learner can succeed and enjoy an exceptional learning experience here in North Devon.”
For current students, learning will continue as normal at their existing campuses, while the College begins unlocking the wider benefits of being part of the new Group.
With the start of the new term, North Devon College enters a new era — building on its strengths, embracing new opportunities and shaping a bright future for our learners and our local communities!
