Public Services and A Level Students Gain First-Hand Insight on Inspiring London Visit

Students from the Public Services and A-Level programmes at North Devon College enjoyed an unforgettable educational visit to London, where classroom discussions were brought vividly to life through a day of political debate, historical reflection and real-world learning.

The trip began at the Houses of Parliament, where students explored the heart of British democracy and gained a deeper understanding of how political decisions shape society on both a national and global scale. From discussing current affairs to witnessing the atmosphere of one of the world’s most recognised political institutions, the experience encouraged students to think critically about leadership, public policy and international issues.

The day continued with a visit to the Imperial War Museum, offering students a powerful and thought-provoking insight into the realities of conflict and its impact across generations. Through immersive exhibitions and personal stories, learners were able to connect their studies to real historical events, gaining valuable perspective on themes such as resilience, service and global affairs.

The trip was praised by students for offering a fresh perspective on topics explored in lessons and for creating memorable experiences alongside their peers.
