A Summer of Success and an Exciting Autumn Ahead at Petroc

It’s been a busy and exciting summer for Petroc, with plenty of community engagement, campus improvements, and preparations for an incredible new academic year.

Summer Fun in the Community

Over the holidays, Petroc was out and about across North Devon – from taking part in the North Devon Show to joining the celebrations with North Devon Homes. These events gave us the chance to meet our wider community, showcase all that Petroc has to offer, and, of course, have some fun along the way!

Campus Transformations

Back on site, the college has been buzzing with improvements to make life better for our students and staff. Fresh coats of paint have brightened up our learning spaces, a brand-new WiFi system has been rolled out for faster and more reliable connections, and our car parks have undergone refurbishments to make access smoother. Most exciting of all, work is well underway on our brand-new facilities dedicated to supporting our SEND students – an important step in continuing to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone at Petroc.

New Academies and Enrichment Opportunities

Looking ahead to the new term, we’re thrilled to announce a refreshed and expanded programme of academies. Whether you’re passionate about sport, strategy, or creativity, there’s something for everyone. This year’s line-up includes:

• Sports academies: surf life saving, netball, football, volleyball, and basketball.

• Esports teams for competitive and collaborative gaming.

• Dungeons & Dragons sessions, plus many other enrichment activities to discover.

With opportunities ranging from high-energy competition to imaginative storytelling, the academies are designed to help students build skills, make friends, and get the most out of their time at Petroc.

Looking Forward

After such a positive summer and with so many exciting developments on campus, the autumn term is set to be one of the most dynamic yet. We can’t wait to welcome back our students – and meet new faces – as we embark on another year of achievement, growth, and community spirit at Petroc.
