Appledore Shipyard to reopen

Sean Mackney, North Devon College’s Principal and CEO, joined North Devon College students at Appledore Shipyard yesterday, where it was announced that the shipyard would reopen after a £7m deal with InfraStrata.

Students spoke directly to PM Boris Johnson about the fantastic opportunities and prosperity that the shipyard will bring to the region.

Geoffrey Cox, MP for Torridge and West Devon, said: “The purchase of the yard is excellent news for the local community, ensuring, as it does, the future of the yard and its workforce”.

North Devon College has worked alongside Appledore Shipyard for many years providing skilled apprenticeships, and we look forward to working with Infrastrata as they develop the site for the future.
