Celebrating Hair & Beauty Student Talent

This year’s highly anticipated Petroc Hair & Beauty Competition and Showcase dazzled attendees with an extraordinary display of creativity, skill, and innovation. The event featured captivating themes, including Queens, Weather, Steampunk, Movies, and more, providing a platform for participants to showcase their artistic prowess and imagination.

The event spotlighted the creative talents of future hairstylists and beauty professionals alike, recognising the technical excellence and creative imaginations of students. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with exciting activities, including pop-up shops offering exclusive beauty products provided by event sponsor, Milkshake; services such as scissor sharpening; fabulous prizes; and sweets, snacks and refreshments provided by Benny’s of Braunton.

Two spectacular catwalk showcases were the crescendo of the event with models and stylists strutting their stuff down the runway, showcasing their themed creations.

Speaking ahead of the event, former Level 3 lecturer and this year’s lead judge, Brendan noted his excitement at returning to Petroc to see all the work the students created at the event.

Former student and previous first-place winner, Melissa Pendlebury, joined a variety of judges this year, commenting “It’s been a fantastic experience being the other side of the chair this year and seeing the next generation of students develop into professionals. It’s been really good fun, I’ve met some lovely people and had a great day!”.
