Petroc A Level Students Reach Final of Prestigious University of Cambridge Podcast Competition

Talented A Level students, Charlie and Mudit, have reached the final of the University of Cambridge’s esteemed ‘Pelican Podcast’ competition — a national contest designed to amplify youth voices on major academic and social issues.
The students’ podcast entry was shortlisted from dozens of submissions from across the UK, and the judging panel, which included Cambridge academics and media professionals, praised the team’s originality, research quality, and creative storytelling.
As finalists, the Petroc students’ podcast will be officially published by the University of Cambridge after July 12th, bringing their work to an international audience via the university’s platforms. The recognition not only marks a significant academic achievement but also places Petroc among a small number of further education institutions to have reached this level in the competition.
In addition, the students have been invited to attend a residential at Cambridge in September, where they will meet fellow finalists, attend academic workshops, and receive further mentoring from Cambridge staff and podcast professionals.
We’re incredibly proud of our students for reaching the final of such a prestigious competition. It reflects their hard work, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, qualities we nurture at Petroc. This is a brilliant example of how our learners are engaging with top-tier academic opportunities.
