Petroc Animal Care Students Go Wild with Hands-On Learning Adventures!

Animal Care students at Petroc have been making the most of the great outdoors with a series of exciting educational trips designed to enhance their learning and understanding of the animal kingdom.

Recently, the students have embarked on a range of immersive experiences, including a visit to Exmoor Zoo, where they observed exotic species up close and gained insight into conservation practices. The group have also enjoyed bird watching and pond dipping excursions, offering firsthand exposure to British wildlife and aquatic ecosystems.

A highlight of their adventures was a special session with Really Wild Learning, where students had the chance to meet and handle a variety of fascinating creatures, deepening their practical knowledge in animal handling and behaviour.

The students are set to visit Ilfracombe Aquarium on June 3rd, where they will explore marine life and learn about the habitats of local aquatic species.

These outings have provided invaluable real-world experience to complement the students’ classroom learning, helping them build skills essential for future careers in animal care.
