North Devon College hosts Chef competition

On 7 December, nine students aged 14-16 from secondary schools across Devon and Somerset, competed in North Devon College’s industry-standard kitchens to gain a place in the regional round of the Springboard Future Chef competition.

Each contestant had just one hour to complete their dish before presenting it to a panel of local judges. Judges included Dez, Development Chef for the Brend Hotels Group; Carla, a former Masterchef contestant and esteemed Chef at The Seacliff Restaurant at Sandy Cove Hotel; and Jake, also a Chef at The Seacliff.

The competition was tough as each student produced outstanding dishes.

The winners were announced as Louie (Somerset) and Perran (Devon).
