Petroc Hosts NHS Well-being Workshops for Students Ahead of Exam Season

Throughout late April and May, Petroc has partnered with local NHS mental‑health practitioners to help students safeguard their well‑being during the crunch of revision season. The free lunchtime workshops tackled three of the most common stress‑points voiced by college learners:
Sleep hygiene and routines, covering topics such as building a pre-bed wind-down plan, screen time limits, resetting your body clock after late-night study and more. Finally, sessions about understanding anxiety and strategies to support It, covering topics such as ‘name it to tame it” labelling exercise, 4-7-8 breathing, creating an anxiety first-aid kit and more.
Why now?
College data showed that enquiries to Student Support spiked by almost 40 % during spring mocks and summer exams, in response to this, Petroc encouraged all students, whether they were wrestling with sleep schedules or simply seeking fresh revision break ideas to drop in.
