Petroc Netball Powers into the Next Round of the AoC Cup

On 16 October, Petroc’s Netball team delivered a commanding performance in the second round of the Association of Colleges (AoC) Cup, defeating Bridgwater College 52-26 at home. Both teams came into the match with a strong record of two wins from two in the league, setting the stage for an exciting contest.
Petroc started fast, surging ahead with a 15-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. This early dominance, driven by the team’s dedication and hard work in training, set the tone for the rest of the game. Despite a late resurgence from Bridgwater in the final quarter, Petroc maintained control throughout, securing their place in the third-round draw.
The standout defensive performance of Kiah Blair, Teah Husband, and Tilly Hill earned them joint Player of the Match honours from their teammates. Opposition Player of the Match also went to Tilly Hill for her exceptional contribution on the court.
This victory continues Petroc’s impressive start to the season and the team is eager to build on their success in the upcoming rounds of the cup.
Exciting Fixtures for Petroc Sports Teams. The sporting action continues next week with Petroc’s basketball team facing a challenging away game against the Plymouth Patriots Academy. Meanwhile, our volleyball team will compete in a mixed cup match against Richard Huish College.
Additionally, the Regional tournaments are fast approaching, with Petroc badminton players heading to Taunton to compete for the South West title. Athletes who perform well will have the chance to represent the South West at the National Championships in Nottingham next April.
Well done to everyone for their hard work and dedication!
