Petroc Performing Arts Students Shine in ‘New Horizons Showcase’

Petroc’s Performing Arts students kicked off their academic year in spectacular style with their ‘New Horizons Showcase’, an energetic evening of acting, singing, and dance.

The performance, held on campus last week, marked the first public show of the academic year, and an impressive one at that. Across a series of short, original pieces, students demonstrated the creativity, teamwork, and technical skill they have developed in just the first four weeks of term.

From powerful dramatic monologues to lively dances and vocal performances, the showcase reflected the diverse talents of the groups. Each performance was created, rehearsed, and refined by the students themselves, supported by the Performing Arts team.

Jasmin Jones, Program Manager for Performing & Production Arts, praised the students’ commitment saying:

“This showcase is all about setting the tone for the year, exploring new ideas, building confidence, and working together creatively. The students have achieved an incredible amount in such a short space of time, and this performance shows the potential of what’s to come.”

The evening was attended by friends, family, and college staff, who were treated to a vibrant celebration of emerging talent and artistic ambition.

The ‘New Horizons Showcase’ is the first of many performances planned for the year, as students continue to develop their craft in preparation for future productions and industry opportunities.
