Petroc Plus – News Friends, New Experiences, Endless Opportunities

Students starting at Petroc this September are set to benefit from the college’s thriving Petroc Plus programme, a vibrant and diverse enrichment offer designed to complement academic study and help learners make the most of their time at college.

Whether you’re aiming for a top university, hoping to pursue a career in elite sport, or simply want to try something new, Petroc Plus has something for everyone.

What is Petroc Plus?

Petroc Plus is a well-established programme that gives all students access to a range of high-quality extracurricular opportunities alongside their main course. The initiative is designed to broaden horizons, build confidence, and support personal and professional development.

From September 2025, new students will be able to get involved in:

• Specialist Academies – including Sports teams such as Football, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby. Creative Arts Academy, Surf Life Saving Academy and so many more. These offer tailored workshops, career insights, and one-to-one guidance for students with a clear goal or passion.
• Aim Higher – an exclusive strand of Petroc Plus for high-achieving students aiming for Russell Group universities, medicine, law, or other competitive pathways. This includes support with personal statements, university visits, and mentoring from experienced staff.
• Clubs and Volunteering – students can also explore interests outside the classroom, take on leadership roles, support local communities, or even launch their own clubs and initiatives.
