Petroc Students Host Girls Football Day as Part of England Football Initiative

Petroc students recently welcomed over 200 girls from local primary schools for an exciting day of women’s football activities. The event, held as part of the England Football initiative, aimed to inspire young girls to get involved in the sport, promoting inclusivity and empowerment on the football field.

The workshops were expertly organized and led by Petroc’s sports students, who demonstrated impressive leadership and coaching skills throughout the day. The initiative provided these students with a valuable opportunity to experience what it’s like to coach a large group – a skill many of them hope to refine and pursue as a career after completing their sports courses.

From fun drills and skills sessions to friendly matches, the event was filled with energy and enthusiasm. The young participants enjoyed learning new techniques, building their confidence, and simply having fun with their peers under the guidance of the dedicated Petroc students.

Staff members praised the students for their professionalism, creativity, and encouragement shown towards the younger players. The event proved to be a resounding success, not only inspiring the primary school girls to continue their football journeys but also giving Petroc students hands-on experience in coaching.

Overall, the day was celebrated as a fantastic achievement for all involved, with smiles all around and high hopes for the future of girls’ football. Petroc students have certainly made their mark as positive role models, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm for coaching – and leaving a lasting impact on the next generation of footballers.
