Petroc to Host Special Online Event for Incoming Students’ Parents

At 6:00pm on Thursday 26 June, Petroc is set to welcome parents of incoming students with a special online event designed to offer insights, reassurance, and connection ahead of the September term.
Taking place via Microsoft Teams, the virtual session will feature key members of the college’s leadership team and aims to help parents understand what to expect as their children take the next step in their education.
The event will include presentations from Kurt Hintz, Interim Principal and CEO, Jason Jones, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Quality, and Jo Byrne, Assistant Principal for Student Experience. Together, they will provide a comprehensive overview of the college’s mission, values, support systems, and the wide range of opportunities available to students.
This is a fantastic opportunity for parents to hear directly from our leadership team about the learning journey their young people will embark upon, we aim to build a strong partnership with families from day one, and events like this help to lay those foundations.
Following the presentations, there will be a live Q&A session, giving parents the chance to ask questions about college life, academic support, wellbeing services, and the transition from school to further education.
The online event reflects Petroc’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, transparency, and community engagement. By hosting the session via Teams, the college ensures that families from across the region can participate conveniently from home.
Parents of all students joining Petroc this September will receive an invitation with joining instructions via email. We encourage all to attend and be part of their young persons exciting next chapter.
