Petroc Welcomes Year 10 Students for College Taster Days!

Petroc proudly opened its doors over the past two weeks to over 1500 Year 10 students from local schools across North Devon and Cornwall, offering them an exciting opportunity to experience life as a college student for the day.

Students from Holsworthy, Ilfracombe, Chulmleigh, Braunton, South Molton, The Park, Bude, Pilton, Great Torrington School, Bideford, and Atlantic Academy were invited to take part in the Taster Days, aimed to give pupils a first-hand look at the wide range of courses and career pathways available at Petroc.

Each student selected two subject areas of interest and spent the day attending two sessions designed to showcase what college learning is really like. From Engineering to Health & Social Care, Media to Public Services, the sessions were hands-on, engaging, and led by Petroc’s expert lecturers.

Heather Eadie, Head of School Recruitment at Petroc, said “It’s fantastic to welcome so many enthusiastic young people to our campus. The Taster Day gives students a real feel for the college environment and helps them start thinking about their future options. We’re really proud to work so closely with our local schools to support their students on this important journey.”
