Supported Internship Students Explore Horticulture Careers at RHS Rosemoor

Students from the college’s Supported Internship programme recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to RHS Rosemoor as part of their ongoing exploration of local career opportunities.
The visit formed part of the group’s weekly sector taster sessions, designed to give interns hands-on insights into a variety of industries. The new cohort began their programme on 8th September, and since then have taken part in a series of workplace tours and career talks aimed at helping them identify potential future pathways.
During the session at RHS Rosemoor, the interns learned about careers in horticulture, gaining first-hand experience of the gardens and discovering the range of roles involved in maintaining and developing such a prestigious site.
The College expressed gratitude to all the local employers and professionals who have supported the programme so far, including Brends, Tesco Rose Lane, North Devon Council, RHS Rosemoor, and Texx Plastics, for welcoming interns to their workplaces and sharing their expertise.
Thanks were also extended to Alana from the Job Centre, who visited the College to explain the support available through the Job Centre and the services it provides to jobseekers.
These valuable experiences are helping interns build confidence, develop employability skills, and make informed choices about their future careers.
