Our most recent Ofsted inspection took place in November 2015, and confirmed that Petroc continues to be recognised as a good provider of education and training.
Overall, Ofsted confirmed that learners at Petroc continue to receive good education and training. Furthermore, outcomes for apprentices have improved since the previous inspection in March 2012.
The report also highlighted that students have valuable opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills to enable them to progress to further study, higher education or to employment.
Since Ofsted last visited in 2012, the college has invested more than £20million in its estate to maintain the high standard of teaching and learning, with the report stating that Petroc campuses are well resourced. It read that recent and ongoing projects - such as the new Engineering Centre of Excellence and the Future Technology Centre - have helped to improve the quality of accommodation and resources around the campus
Petroc is a valuable learning resource for the local community, something that Ofsted also celebrated in the report. It reads:
The college continues to provide good education and training for the widespread community that it serves. People in the community find the college welcoming and the programmes of the college meet their educational and social needs well.
