To reignite the fashion and textile manufacturing in Plymouth. Delivering a Level 1 award in industrial manufacturing, to engage and sign up those people in the Stonehouse and Devonport community currently furthest removed from the job market.


Groundwork South

Area: Torbay Start Date: February 2020 End Date: December 2020

Supporting unemployed and inactive residents to become engaged with their community open spaces, learning new skills, increasing their personal development, becoming more socially active, gaining a horticulture qualification, whilst improving their health and wellbeing and future employment prospects.

This project aims to support women living in the poorest socio-economic wards of Plymouth in particular targeting those who are single mothers. The project will support participants to learn the skills they need to become self-employed thereby being able to structure their work around childcare commitments.


Ellacombe Community Partnership

Area: Torquay Start Date: January 2020 End Date: March 2021

To engage disadvantaged community members, offering free training and qualifications in food hygiene, health and safety, customer service and barista use. Supporting clients into employment or further education.


Great Torrington Building Preservation Trust

Area: Torrington Start Date: January 2020 End Date: February 2021

To set up a Torrington Work and Community Hub in partnership with TTVS, LiveWest, Libraries unlimited and local employers. The club is tailored to the specific needs to individuals and the issues facing unemployed and community groups.


No Limits Community Café & Hub

Area: Newton Abbott Start Date: March 2020 End Date: March 2021

Aimed at young people with learning disabilities and additional needs who would like to pursue work in a catering or café environment but who are not yet ready for mainstream employment or DWP access to work funding.


Touchwood SW

Area: Torquay Start Date: April 2020 End Date: December 2020

Supporting women who are in the criminal justice system or unemployed. They will learn carpentry and DIY skills along with mental wellbeing tools. They will gain practical skills that will increase confidence and employability, and learn – on a peer-to-peer basis – tools for enhancing wellbeing.

The project will offer supported work experience placements and training within community organisations and local projects for participants facing multiple barriers, offering them the opportunities to add vital work experience to their CVs while supporting local community organisations.


YMCA Plymouth & Discovery College

Aim to deliver bespoke employability and mentoring programmes to reduce the 16-19 NEET deficit in Plymouth. Consisting of Employment, Training and Personal Development, Functional skills in English and Maths as well as Mentoring, Enterprise and PSHE.

To develop the employability skills and enhance the wellbeing of the most disadvantaged adults through increased social engagement. They will engage with beneficiaries through bicycles and bicycle mechanics bringing people together to learn new skills and break down barriers to employment at our workshop.


City Community Trust

Area: Exeter Start Date: February 2020 End Date: December 2020

Using the power of sport and Exeter City Football Club in the community to engage with and support disadvantaged people to make real and measurable progress towards sustainable employment.


EDP Drug and Alcohol Services

Area: Exeter Start Date: April 2020 End Date: March 2021

Aiming to support people with a variety of life challenges into work. Beneficiaries acquire employment skills through learning how to design, make and market jewellery and other handcrafted products from recycled and reclaimed metals whilst being supported to overcome barriers to employment.


I Can Do That!

Area: Torbay Start Date: February 2020 End Date: August 2020

Delivering a confidence and motivation course in Torbay, including 1:1 mentoring appointments, with an aim of increasing confidence, motivation and self-worth to move people with disabilities closer towards employment.


Plymouth Argyle Football in the Community Trust

Area: Plymouth Start Date: February 2020 End Date: December 2020

Targeting those individuals, over 25, who would benefit from a 12-week programme providing participants with substantial relevant work experience and employability skills development that will make them more employable.


Sound Communities

Area: Torbay Start Date: January 2020 End Date: December 2020

Using radio and music production to build self-confidence and employability skills for young people aged 16-25 year olds. They will participate in 8 training workshops, followed by work experience to further develop and practice their skills in a real world setting.


St Sidwell’s Centre

Area: Exeter Start Date: January 2020 End Date: December 2020

Working with people facing barriers to employment to participant in 4 months courses, Cooking for life, for work and for pleasure. The courses and 1-1 mentoring will support participant to improve health and wellbeing, acquire life skills and vocational skills and progress into further training or employment.


Trevi House Ltd

Area: Plymouth Start Date: January 2020 End Date: May 2021

The project aims to increase skills, confidence and employability across marginalised women in recovery at the Sunflower Women’s Centre. This includes recovering from criminogenic behaviours, domestic abuse, addiction and mental ill health.
