Caleb Wood

Biography

What made you pick this particular course?
I chose these courses because English was my best subject at school and I thought English Language and Psychology would be good subjects to learn for a career in education.

What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I enjoy the books we study in English Literature and I love learning about the personality tests in Psychology. Also, English Language is consistently fun! I also really love the quiet study rooms.

Have you got involved in any enrichment activities?
I enjoyed doing badminton with my friends as it was a good stress reliever and a really fun time with no pressure. I also involved myself in the Christian discussion group, this provoked deep thought and has let me understand deep concepts in a better way.

What do you plan to do when you leave Petroc?
I would like to study to become a counsellor/ therapist in an educational setting.

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
The jump from GCSE to A Level is a large one so it will be hard but it’s worth the hard work. Start revision sooner rather than later, as there’s a lot of content to cover!
