What made you pick this particular course/Petroc?
I’ve always loved working with kids and I’ve been coaching since I was 12. I have always loved the dynamic of helping young minds, so when I saw that there was a course where I could get my qualification and still get some experience in the field, I knew this was the course for me!

What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I most enjoy the vibe of the college! It’s really accepting and you always feel safe. You can turn pretty much any corner and make a friend. The college provides amazing support, whether that’s your lecturers, the safeguarding team or your peers.

Did you undertake any work experience?
During my course I have to complete 315 hours of placement in a primary setting. My placement is at Fremington Primary and I absolutely love it! This has helped me decide on my next steps massively.

What do you plan to do when you leave Petroc?
I plan on continuing my studies through the open university or Petroc University Centre and go on to be a teacher!

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course?
Go for it, you only live once and you will have some great support in becoming support for other young minds.
