Biography
What made you pick this particular course/Petroc?
I wanted somewhere to showcase my creativity and love for singing. I saw the facilities that Petroc’s performing arts had access to and knew that it was a good place to grow as a performer and a person. A Performing Arts course seemed perfect to fuel my creativity in an environment that mimics the real world industry.
What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I enjoyed the annual trips to the theatre, with the course as it was an amazing opportunity to see professional performers and ask questions about their experience in the Performing Arts industry. Each Project we work on is enriching and offers opportunities to build my teamwork, confidence and my love for acting. I particularly enjoy our end of year musical, which is always big, bold and challenging but always fun!
Have you gotten involved in any enrichment activities?
I have gotten involved in the Christian discussion group, on Wednesday afternoons and I really enjoy it because I could discuss in detail big questions with people of the same beliefs as me.
Did you do any work experience?
I complete 1 week’s work experience each year at the Landmark Theatre, when we perform a public performance to a paying audience.
What do you want to do after you leave Petroc?
I plan to take a gap year, working at Lee Abbey.
Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course?
This course is great for people to improve their confidence, teamwork and communication skills. It is great for those who aren’t afraid to try new things and be pushed out of their comfort zone. It is a lot of hard work but is worth the effort as the fun and the friends you have along the way will build you up & strengthen you as a performer.
