Battle of the Bands 2023 Results!
On Thursday night, six phenomenal bands showcased their musical prowess in the Battle of the Bands!
Organised by Debbie Kent (Assistant Head/Music Development Lead at Devon & Torbay Music Education Hubs, Devon Education Services) and hosted at Petroc, it was an incredible night of music and talent.
Bands from Pilton, Park, Bideford, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Okehampton schools delivered mind-blowing performances. The competition was fierce and the judges had a tough decision to make. Whilst the judges deliberated, Petroc’s student band ‘The Runouts’ delivered a brilliant performance to entertain the crowds. Finally, after a tense wait, the judges were thrilled to announce that Okehampton’s band, ‘The Stereo Problems’, as champions! The judges couldn’t stress enough how close the call was and praised all the bands for their amazing talent.
As the winning band, the ‘The Stereo Problems’ have secured some incredible opportunities: They’ve been invited to play at Petroc’s end-of-year Music Show, they’ll be featured in an interview and performance session at The Voice FM, and they will get an exclusive recording session at Petroc’s recording studio!
Huge thanks to the judges, Debbie Kent, Jon Price (Petroc’s Head of Faculty for Creative Industries) and Hopps (from The Voice). And a massive congratulations to ‘The Stereo Problems’ from the entire Petroc community. We are immensely proud of your achievement.
