Petroc 70 Anniversary Event
On Friday 14 we welcomed former alumni, staff members and VIP’s to our Petroc 70 Celebration event at the Taw restaurant.
It was a wonderful event full of reminiscing. We had display boards around the Taw with photos of former students and staff from 1952-2023. Former student Sarah Lee-Pettifer, who goes by Mrs Animation skillfully made some of these archived images come to life, which really impressed our guests.
Our Hospitality and Catering students presented a high tea and made some delicious canapes and Petroc 70 inspired cakes, which they brought out to guests throughout the afternoon.
Michelle Semmens, Programme Manager and lecturer of FdSc Computing at Petroc, said “ It was so lovely to be part of the Petroc 70 Anniversary event at the Taw Restaurant. I really enjoyed hearing about the different phases the college has been through and plans ahead for the college. I’m very proud to be taking my students through new ideas and technologies in the digital industry and running the new FdEng Software Development degree.”
Principal and CEO, Sean Mackney said, “It gave me immense sense of pride to be part of Petroc’s 70th anniversary. Thank you to everyone for coming and sharing your stories of the past and your visions for he future. Here’s to the next 70 years!”
