Petroc is thrilled to be part of a £3 million investment in skills across Devon and Cornwall with the launch of the latest wave of Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps.
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer. Courses are open to adults aged 19 or over who are looking to improve their skills and employability. For those seeking new employment a guaranteed interview is offered.
Bill Blythe, Vice-Principal, Finance, Resources & Regional Affairs at Petroc, said: “We are delighted to offer a range of Skills Bootcamps designed to provide learners with new skills to ensure they are prepared for employment opportunities or to progress within their current employment. The courses are carefully developed to meet the needs of local employers looking to recruit or retain well-trained staff in sectors such as care, construction, hospitality, and green technology. Petroc is committed to supporting our local businesses by equipping their current and future workforce with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.”
Employers who wish to use the Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps for staff development are required to contribute to the costs of the course, either 10% if an SME or 30% for large businesses, representing excellent value for money. For employers looking to recruit staff, Skills Bootcamps offer a pipeline of highly skilled and motivated individuals who are looking for roles where they can utilise the skills learnt.
