Neil Sherman

Biography

Neil Sherman is a senior finance professional and is a fellow of both the ACCA and AAT as well as holding qualifications in Managing Sanctions Risk and Lean Six Sigma.

Neil has 25+ years’ experience in finance, mostly gained through working at the 200-year-old family-owned Clarks Shoes in Somerset, UK where he held various senior Global finance roles including as Group Financial Controller and Director of Finance Shared Services and Transformation and more recently as Director of Global Financial Operations with Delinian Limited (previously Euromoney Institutional Investor Plc, a FTSE 250 business).

Neil has a passion for leading and developing high-performing teams through his hands-on leadership style, performance management approach and commitment to support learning and development to get the best out of everyone in his team. Neil is also motivated by continuous improvement, including the use of Lean Six Sigma techniques to improve business processes.

Neil’s tenuous claim to fame is that he was the first person in the UK to file a tax return with HMRC electronically using the Electronic Lodgement Service (ELS) way back in 1997 – making front page of the FT – it was also his own return!

Neil lives in Taunton in Somerset, and is a keen runner, cyclist and a fair-weather scuba diver.
