Alex Bird

Alex is the coach for The Rocks (our pan-disability football team).

For Alex, being active is a way of life. With a love for sports, fitness, and outdoor activities, Alex brings a unique perspective to his role as a sports lecturer at Petroc. With experience in coaching surfing and football, and even working with Surfing England to develop coaching qualifications, Alex’s expertise shines through in his teaching. He believes in incorporating practical elements into his lessons, whether it’s taking students outside or utilizing the sports hall or gym. Alex’s passion for all things active is infectious, making him a motivating and inspiring lecturer for aspiring sports enthusiasts.

Alex has been coaching The Rocks (our wonderful pan-disability football team) for five seasons. They regularly win league titles and have qualified to represent the South West Region at National Championships twice. They also qualified and played in a cup tournament at St Georges Park where the England team train!
