Key Stage 4 Provision
Key Stage 4 Provision for 14-16 Year Olds
At Petroc, we work with school referrals to provide an accredited alternative education pathway for Key Stage 4 students aged 14-16. Our courses are designed to equip young people with the knowledge, practical experience, and essential employability skills needed for their future careers.
We pride ourselves on offering a highly inclusive and safe learning environment that nurtures mutual respect and tolerance among students and staff. Using national accredited qualifications and a focus on student success, our programme aims to achieve outstanding results that exceed national averages.
As a specialist Vocational College, we maintain strong partnerships with local and regional employers, ensuring students gain meaningful work experience and develop a career-focused mindset.
Our Key Stage 4 provision is designed to:
- Meet the Department for Education (DfE), Local Authority, and schools’ requirements for Alternative Provision.
- Re-engage young people who may have struggled in traditional school settings.
- Motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Support seamless progression from Year 10 to Year 11, and on to further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
We offer both one-day-per-week “day release” courses and full-time alternative provision programmes, ranging from Entry Level to Level 2 qualifications. During the enrolment process, each student is carefully interviewed to help us guide them towards the course that best matches their interests, abilities, and career goals.
Our students can choose from a variety of subject areas, and we create personalised learning plans that are delivered in our well-equipped workshops and classrooms.
With a supportive environment, flexible options, and a focus on skills that matter, our Key Stage 4 provision is here to help your child thrive—both academically and personally. Together, we’ll help them take their next steps toward a successful future.
