Biography

Why did you choose to come to Petroc?
I chose to come to Petroc due to the facilities available e.g. guidance, shop, basement and library.

What made you pick this particular course?
I picked Health and Social Care as I’ve always had an interest in working with children and learning about development, for example genie whiley and oxana malaya have always interested me.

What have been the highlights so far?
My highlight has been working in Pathfields, I adore working with my class and staff are so supportive.

What did you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I have most enjoyed the community. I love being treated like an adult and having independence/freedom.

Did you undertake any work experience throughout your studies?
I have done work experience at Pathfields Primary School Barnstaple. The experience has been great, I absolutely loved it. I want to go back and maybe have a future in a place like that.

What do you plan to do when you leave Petroc?
I plan to go to university to continue my education. I want to go to Liverpool purely to get a new environment.

What’s the long-term plan?
Go to university and maybe get a career with young people who either need an ITOL or go to an additional needs school.

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
My advice is that you will need to be dedicated as you’re learning how to protect yourself and others in both health and social care settings.
