Zak Pearce

Biography

Why did you choose to come to Petroc?
I chose Petroc as it was conveniently located, the course was highly appealing to me, and my family had previously attended the college.

What made you pick this particular course?
I chose Media Production as the course content piqued my interest – as learning adobe software and photography sounded like something I would benefit from investing time into.

What have been the highlights so far?
My highlight has been the final major project, the big shoot, and getting to meet and know new people.

What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I have most enjoyed the constant use of technology, and the lack of written work. The practical work is also consistent.

Did you undertake any work experience throughout your studies?
During work experience week, I assisted the big film shoot – performing the role of a clapper as well as helping to capture video for behind the scenes. This was a valuable experience and was hopefully a stepping stone into a production based career.

What do you plan to do when you leave Petroc?
I plan to attend university, to do a sports journalism course – learning about publication and getting first hand experience at professional football grounds, where I can capture and write about my experiences, going on to eventually work for a company.

What is the long-term plan?
I hope to eventually become a football journalist.
