Library

On both our North Devon and Mid Devon campuses, our Learning Technologies and Library Services offer a relaxed, quiet and comfortable place to study. They provide a variety of private study spaces and computers, or, if you prefer to use your own devices, you can log into the college Wi-Fi.  There will always be a friendly member of staff on hand to help you too.

What can the team help you with?

  • Finding relevant and reliable information to support your study
  • Using MyDiscover and MyLibrary
  • Accessing e-resources and e-books
  • Using the computers
  • Printing and photocopying
  • ... plus lots more!

What can you borrow from the Library?

Your student card allows you to borrow up to eight items at a time:

  • Books
  • Journals
  • DVDs
  • CDs
  • Laptops
  • Headphones
  • Media Equipment

You must return your items on time to avoid fines. Check your college email for reminders!

Finding Information

Petroc stocks a wide range of resources to help you find relevant and reliable information to support your study. This information comes in many formats, including books, e-books, e-resources and subject specific journals. Books, DVDs, journals, laptops and various recording equipment are available for loan with your student card and can be renewed and reserved online.

Supporting your studies

The Learning Technologies & Library Services team run workshops for all new learners which are aimed to support your study requirements and help you get the best out of your time here at Petroc. Subject specific workshops help you develop research skills using relevant resources and E-safety sessions show you how to stay safe whilst online.

Accessibility

All computers in the Learning Technologies & Library Services area have a range of accessibility programmes. We can also provide specialist equipment.
