Interested in Apprenticeships?

Petroc offers a wide range of high quality apprenticeship programmes across Devon to develop industry-specific skills through a combination of training both in the workplace and in the classroom, delivered by qualified tutors and experienced practitioners.

We support over 400 local employers to deliver successful apprenticeship programmes, including advanced and higher apprenticeships, to over 1000 apprentices in a wide range of subjects, including Marketing, Health & Social Care, IT, Construction and Engineering, to name just a few.

In November 2018, Petroc was rated as the best college in the prestigious NICDEX league table, published by FE Week. We excelled and scored highly in all four categories, securing 93.8% for employer satisfaction, 92% for 16-to 18 positive progression, 56% for adult progression into work and 81% for learner satisfaction.

So whether you're hoping to get ahead in your chosen career by becoming an apprentice, or want to know more about how an apprentice could support you and your business, we can help.

How will Petroc support me during an Apprenticeship?

Petroc has a key role to play in providing off-the-job training, assessing your progress towards achieving your qualifications and supporting you generally during your apprenticeship. They work very closely with your employer to ensure that you receive:

  • an induction programme on starting.
  • a detailed training plan (including on-the-job training).
  • regular progress reviews.
  • opportunities to put into practice off-the-job learning so that you can achieve your qualifications/requirements of the apprenticeship.
  • mentoring and general support throughout your apprenticeship.

This will all be documented in a commitment statement that is part of the Apprenticeship Agreement - an individual learning plan that Petroc, your employer and you will all sign up to.
