Assessments

To achieve the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Site Carpentry you must successfully complete both mandatory assessment components which include theory exam, synoptic assignment and employer involvement.

Entry Requirements

All entrants must hold four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent (or above), preferably including GCSE Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English you will continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s). At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 2 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills before progressing to your next level course

Progression

The Level 2 Technical Certificate in Site Carpentry could lead to a job as a site carpenter, working for a house building company, a property development company, or as part of a small business repairing and refurbishing buildings. It could also lead to an apprenticeship in site carpentry or further Level 3 training.

This qualification will allow you to progress into employment or onto the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Site Carpentry. This will allow you to enhance the skills and knowledge that you have gained at Level 2, to progress into higher job roles such as an advanced craft site carpenter. This qualification could also lead you to an apprenticeship in construction. There are a number of new and exciting apprenticeships currently being developed in construction, including carpentry and joinery, so you could progress to be an apprentice working as a site carpenter.
