As a senior care worker in social care, this qualification will support you to take your practice to the next level. It will enable you to examine what makes excellent care practice and how you can make a real difference to the clients you work with, whether directly or indirectly. It is aimed at those care workers who have key responsibilities and/or supervisory roles.

You will study a range of topics from supporting group care activities or supporting independence in daily living tasks.

You will learn through discussion, application of skills and analysis of outcomes.

You will study the following mandatory units:
– Person-centred approaches
– Communication
– Personal development
– Equality and inclusion
– Handling information
– Duty of care
– Responsibilities of the role
– Safeguarding
– Health, safety and wellbeing

There are also optional units which are designed to meet the requirements of a range of Adult Care services.

Assessments

You will need to produce a robust portfolio to evidence knowledge and understanding. In addition, you will have observations to demonstrate embedding skills in your practice.

Entry Requirements

Ideally, you will have both English and Maths at a GCSE Grade 4/ C or equivalent.

Progression

Upon successful completion, you can take your study further with another course or an apprenticeship.
