On this one year introductory course you will learn the business basics that will enable you to build a foundation to a successful career in business and business studies.

Course details
Assessments
Assessment will be a series of written and practical tasks, such as presentations and teamwork. You will need to apply your knowledge to scenarios in the business world.
Entry Requirements
You must hold four GCSEs at grade 2 or equivalent (or above), preferably including Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English, youโll continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s). At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 1 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills (where applicable) before progressing on to your next course.
A genuine passion for working in the business sector.
Progression
You can progress onto Level 2 business studies courses, or you may wish to start an apprenticeship and develop your skills further in a work setting on a full time basis. Tutors will give you plenty of support and guidance about your next steps when you are on the course.

Access to IT resources both in the classrooms and in the Learning Resources Centre near our business classrooms (eg small pods for groupwork).

Do I need any prior knowledge or experience in business studies?
No. The course is designed for complete beginners so you do not need any prior knowledge of business.
