Luke Gelley

Biography

Why did you choose to come to Petroc?
I chose to come to Petroc as it was close to where I lived and it gave me the course I wanted.

What made you pick this particular course?
I’ve always loved Art and wanted to improve.

What were the highlights?
The projects keep you challenged, and help you to learn new techniques.

What did you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
I loved making my sculptures and enjoyed the project themes, which has helped me use themes for ideas in future artwork.
Also, if you struggle there are people that will help you more.

What do you plan to do when you leave Petroc?
Hopefully sell my art, or get a job that is very arty.

What’s the long-term plan?
I would love to sell my art and hopefully have my art in a gallery. I also have a passion for animation and would love to work for Aardman Animations – if not, making my own animations and getting an audience.

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, the teachers will always repeat. As I have autism they made it so I understand things.
