Before you apply to Petroc, make sure you know all of the options available to you. Come along to our Open Events, ask questions and explore our course offerings. Each of our study programmes and courses show progression routes to make sure the study programme you’re looking at links up with your future career goals. If you need more help finding a study programme or course best suited to you, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Advice & Guidance Centre.
Applications can be made online by selecting your study programme or course(s) and adding them to your course 'shopping basket'. Once you’ve completed your application you’ll receive confirmation from us via email to let you know we have received this. If you need any help with your application, come in and see us, or call at the Advice & Guidance Centre numbers below.
We always encourage students to apply by the end of January to guarantee an interview for your first choice of course or study programme. We do accept applications after January, but you may not be guaranteed a place on the course you want.
If you would like to discuss any of our courses prior to application, or if you would like a paper application form then please contact the Advice & Guidance Centre using the details below.
After we confirm receipt of your application, we’ll send you a letter inviting you to interview. The interview is nothing to worry about; just a chance to get to know more about you and your learning needs, as well as a chance for you to ask questions and find out more about the study programme or course and life at Petroc.
Following a successful interview, you will receive an offer of a place at Petroc. It’ll specify any agreed conditions, such as required GCSE grades.
In the unfortunate case that you are not offered a place on your first choice, we will ensure that someone talks through your options with you and either offers you a place on another relevant course, or gives you information to go take away and think about.
Once you’ve accepted an offer, we’ll send you regular updates and reminders so you’re fully prepared for starting college. Make sure you keep an eye out on your emails! You can also keep up-to-date with what’s going on at Petroc via our website, on Facebook (Petroc Official and Petroc Mid Devon) and on Twitter (@PetrocOfficial).
You’ll find out even more about Petroc during your Introduction Days, in August, where you’ll meet your tutors and classmates, and start to find your way around the campus. You’ll be sent information about your course introductory day over the summer.
