Future Pathways
The Futures Pathways January Start programme gives you the chance to re-engage with college, rebuild your confidence, and explore new options in a supportive, practical way.
Across 20 weeks, you’ll try out different vocational areas across the campus, develop key personal and social skills, and start shaping a future that feels right for you.
Vocational Exploration – Get hands-on experience in a range of subject areas so you can discover what you enjoy, what you’re good at, and where you might want to go next.
Personal & Social Development – Build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, wellbeing and resilience – all the skills that help you thrive in education, work and life.
Next Steps Support – With guidance from friendly staff, you’ll work on identifying realistic progression routes, setting goals, and getting ready for your next course, an apprenticeship or employment.
This part-time re-engagement programme is designed to help you settle back into learning, understand your options, and take positive steps toward your future.

Study Programme
Every full-time student at Petroc will have their own Study Programme which will include:
– Your academic or vocational qualification.
– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.
– Work Experience – hours will vary depending on your qualification and course level.
– Tutor Support – to support your personal, academic and professional development.
– Sustainability – helping you to identify how you can improve the sustainability of your future employment sectors.
– Personal Development Awards – developing six key areas of personal and employability behaviours to prepare you for the working world.
