AAT Diploma in Accounting (Level 4)
The AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting offers technical training in accounting and is perfect for those wishing to enhance the skills they’ve already developed at the Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma as it maximises opportunities for employment within a wider accountancy context.
In developing this qualification, AAT has carried out extensive consultation with and received input from a wide variety of stakeholders, including industry experts, employers and training providers.
The course covers high-level accounting and finance topics and tasks. You will look at, and become comfortable with, a wide range of financial management skills and applications, and gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategy, and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports. You will also learn about specialist areas such as tax, auditing, credit management, and cash and treasury management.
This qualification comprises four mandatory units and two specialist units selected from a choice of five options.
The mandatory units are:
– Applied management accounting
– Financial statements of limited companies
– Accounting systems and controls
The optional units are:
– Business tax
– Personal tax
– Cash and financial management
– Credit and debt management

Assessments
You must successfully complete the three mandatory unit assessments plus unit assessments for two optional units to achieve this qualification. The proportion of this qualification assessed by external assessment is 100%.
Entry Requirements
Generally, it is expected that learners wishing to undertake this qualification will already have completed the Diploma in Accounting Level 3.
Progression
Once qualified, you will automatically become an AAT affiliate member and, with relevant work experience, will qualify for full AAT membership, which will allow you to use the designatory letters MAAT after your name.
However, the primary and most important outcome of the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting is that it can lead to a wide variety of well-paid accountancy and finance jobs, some of which include Professional Accounting Technician, Assistant Auditor, Payroll Manager, Senior Bookkeeper, Senior Fund Accountant and VAT Accountant.

Q: Is there any funding available to help pay for my course?
A: Many of our courses are free to attend (subject to eligibility). We will carry out a fee assessment when you enrolment to establish if you meet this criteria. Adult Learner loans are available for this course via the Guidance Centre.
