A GCSE in maths can be your key to future success in work and education.
During the course you will study the following:
– Patterns and sequences
– Data analysis
The classes will be held at our North Devon campus in a friendly learning environment where the lecturer will support you through the course.
If you do not already have GCSE maths at grade 4/C or above, or a Level 2 qualification, this course will be fully funded.
The course is assessed by final exams in May/June. There are three exams: One non-calculator and two calculator papers. Regular homework will be set and our online learning platform can be used between lessons to consolidate learning.
You will need a grade 3/D at GCSE maths, or evidence of working at this level. If you have not achieved this qualification, you can sit an initial assessment to check if this is the right course for you or if our progression course would be more suitable.
Gaining a Grade 4 or above at GCSE Maths can open up a wide range of courses including Access to Higher Education Diplomas and Level 3 qualifications, as well as enabling progression within the workplace.
Facilities and resources
You will also need a scientific calculator and a geometry set. The lecturer will advise on the best calculator to buy.
