Home 2 Onsite (H2O)

H2O (Home to Onsite) is a course commissioned by Devon County Council for learners who need a tailored and thorough transition and support to access college provision.

Learners will need an EHCP – with Petroc H20 as the named provider – in order to apply for this course.

H2O offers one-to-one mentoring, tutoring and an individualised study programme that has the flexibility to respond to learners wanting to continue their education and needing an enhanced level of transition to do so. H2O is a year-long study programme that supports learners from Home to Onsite.

The H2O offer includes:
– One-to-one mentoring in the home/outside college
– One-to-one or small group tuition in a designated H2O learning environment within college campus (the whole of campus at Tiverton on Fridays)
– English and Maths tuition
– Academic or vocational options as determined by learners aspirations and academic levels
– Work experience options
– Personal development and progression support to access further courses (with accreditation options)
– Social Skills development (introduction to working and interacting with peers)
– Support with accessing progression to a further college course, alternative colleges and/or internships, apprenticeships and employment.

Progression

On completion, you will be able to progress onto a suitable course at Petroc.

Facilities and resources

You will have use of college facilities and resources including gym, horticulture, outdoor learning, and art and creative spaces.

Study Programme

Every full-time student at Petroc will have their own Study Programme which will include:

– Your academic or vocational qualification.

– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.

– Work Experience – hours will vary depending on your qualification and course level.

– Tutor Support – to support your personal, academic and professional development.

– Sustainability – helping you to identify how you can improve the sustainability of your future employment sectors.

– Personal Development Awards – developing six key areas of personal and employability behaviours to prepare you for the working world.
