Starting in September

Communal Area Of Busy College Campus With Students

Below are a few things you need to do to help you through the first few weeks of term - please take a bit of time to read the information to make sure you're ready for starting at Petroc!

In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be calling you to confirm some details and check you have everything you need for the start of term.

myPetroc is your access to all things college-related – including your timetable, so make sure you have logged in, updated your password and checked your details. We’ll then send you alerts to remind you to upload your results, a copy of your DBS (if required) and a photo for your ID card.

(You should have received your login details via email when you applied. If not, please check your spam/junk folder. If you need these details reissued, or you are having trouble logging into myPetroc, please contact facultyadmin@petroc.ac.uk.)

Make sure you have all the equipment and books you need before starting your course.

However you plan on travelling to college, take some time to familiarise yourself with the route you’ll need to take. If you’re planning on taking the bus, you may be eligible for a free bus pass.

The 16-18 Bursary provides help towards any extra costs associated with your course. Take a look at the criteria to see if you can get financial help towards the cost of a bus pass, equipment, and books for your course, and well as help towards college trips and residentials.

You may be eligible for free college lunches. Check out the criteria and apply now so that it's available for you at the beginning of term.

We know that many of you haven’t been able to spend much time on campus, so to help get your bearings, take a look at our virtual campus tours so you can see where your classes will be held and where you can socialise.

We have a great range of enrichment programmes here at Petroc – from sports clubs to debating societies and everything in between! They’re a great way to meet like-minded people and broaden your horizons so make sure you take a look and sign up!

And don’t forget to come along to your Welcome Week (w/c 6 September) where you will meet classmates, get ready for the start of term and have access to our Welcome Festival!

Stay up to date with all the latest information about your new college on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
