PETROC PLUS: Your Journey Starts Here
Petroc Plus is our vibrant and diverse extracurricular programme designed to run alongside your studies. It’s your chance to make friends, try something new, and grow your confidence while gaining skills that will serve you for life.
We offer a fantastic range of academies, clubs and activities, and sports opportunities through three distinct strands: Boost, Explore, and Compete — all designed to help you Discover, Challenge, Excel.
These 12-week enrichment programmes run alongside A Levels and selected Level 3 courses to enhance your learning. Choose from a stimulating selection such as:
- Anthropology
- Criminology
- Uniformed Services Academy
- Medic Academy
- Creative Academies
- Law Academy
- VETMED Academy
- Russell Group and Oxbridge Academy
- Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award
You’ll dive into exciting new subjects, expand your horizons, and build valuable knowledge and skills.
Clubs and activities are a great way to connect with others and discover what inspires you. Whether you want to chill, create, or challenge yourself, there’s something here for everyone:
- Esports, Debating, Crafting, Surfing, Music & Media
- British Sign Language, AI, Dungeons & Dragons, Choir, Yoga
- Book Club, LGBT+ Group, Vehicle Maintenance, Netball
- Volunteering opportunities at our sustainable Zero Shop
- DJ on Fresh FM – our college radio station
The Petroc Student Union (PSU) also hosts exciting events, including the annual ball. Get involved in planning and organising by joining the committee — a great way to develop your CV. You could also become a Student Ambassador, representing Petroc at events across the college and wider community.
Our Sports Academies are a huge part of college life and are open to all abilities. They’re an excellent way to build confidence, improve mental wellbeing, and develop leadership and teamwork skills.
