Art & Design
This Diploma in Art & Design has been developed with leading businesses, schools and colleges to help you gain the knowledge, skills, and work experience that you will need for your next step, and that employers look for in future employees.
The Programme encompasses the Diploma in Art & Design in order to prepare you for further study onto the Extended Diploma in Creative Practice, Art, Design and Communication at Level 3.
Some of the units covered in this course could include:
– Introduction to materials, processes and technical skills in art and design
– Introduction to contextual research in art and design
– Introduction to drawing skills
– Introduction to communication skills in art and design
– Solving 2D creative problems
– Solving 3D creative problems
– Solving time-based creative problems
– Developing and producing a personal project in art and design
Course details
Assessments
Assessment will be through a variety of methods which could include practical activities, written activities or externally assessed content.
Entry Requirements
All entrants must hold four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent (or above), including GCSE Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English you will continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s). At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 2 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills before progressing to your next level course.
You must also have GCSE grade 3 in Art.
Progression
This course is aimed at anyone interested in going on to study on our Art and Design Level 3 courses.

You will learn in our specialist art studios where you will have your own personal work and storage areas.
